This is the second course in a series that helps beginning English learners to improve their language skills and expand their general knowledge. This course is for English learners at the mid-beginner level and focuses on the topic of university studies. The content has been created for Gulf Arab students, but any learner can benefit from taking this course. In this course, learners will:
learn about the advantages and difficulties of studying at university.
review when and how to use subject/object pronouns.
read for the main ideas of paragraphs.
scan short texts for specific information.
identify the meaning of pronouns in a reading text.
listen for specific information.
ask questions about a university and/or university program.
write sentences about people's experience.
ask someone questions about his or her university experience.
write sentences to describe that person's university experience. Learners should move through the course in order of the posts until they complete the last activity. Answer keys for each activity are provided in the final post. When learners have finished this course, they should continue on to Journeys 1C, or skip to a different course (Journeys 2, 3 or higher) if they found this one too easy. We hope you enjoy learning English the ZU way!
