Description
The Advanced Placement course is designed to allow high school students to pursue studies in college-level psychology while attending high school. This course shall introduce the students to the systematic and scientific study of mental and behavioral processes. Students are expected to leave the course with a college-level understanding of various approaches to psychology, types of research in psychology, the facets of human behavior and cognition, and the treatment of various disorders. The aim of this two semester AP course is to provide the student with a learning experience equivalent to that obtained in most college introductory psychology courses. The student will be expected to take the AP Psychology examination that will be administered to high school students that have completed a year of study in the Advance Placement Psychology course. This year’s test is May 5th.
