This course chronologically covers British literature from the Beginning era (0-445 AD) through the Post-Modern era (after 1950). Aside from the required text book, several novels, essays, and plays will be used to represent the various eras in British literature.This course also incorporates vocabulary, grammar, writing, critical reading, and critical thinking skills. This course offers writing, close reading, and the study of literary criticism of all genres of the various periods of British literature. The reading selections provide the basis for analytical and expository writing. Each student completes a research paper on a literary topic. With some instructional support, students are expected to consistently use critical thinking skills to complete course assignments.
