This course introduces students to the Catholic Ethical tradition. Through the study of various ethical philosophies and methodologies, students develop the critical skills necessary to make an informed ethical decision. In this way, students are challenged to examine their own decision-making process. They are invited to explore the Christian way of life as it is mediated through the Ignatian/Jesuit tradition and the message of Jesus in the areas of justice, personal integrity, sexuality, and life issues. Students explore these various ethical issues through the reading of various documents from the Church’s magisterium and other assigned readings, projects, and case studies. Through the course, students are invited to grow in awareness of self and others, both conceptually and affectively.
